William & Catherine Catt of Eastbourne

William’s origins are not known but Catherine Proger, and her twin brother Thomas, children of Thomas and Elizabeth, were both born on 11^th January 1730 and baptised the following day in Willingdon.

William Catt and Catherine Proger, both of the parish of Eastbourne were married there on 24^th May 1754, witnessed by Thomas Proger and Henry Woller.

They had four children baptised:

William and Catherine were both buried at St Mary’s church in Eastbourne, William on 3^rd December 1789 and Catherine on 25^th February 1803.

Of their children:

• William married Mary Mewett in Willingdon on 19^th May 1777

• Elizabeth married Joseph Hurst in Eastbourne on 25^th December 1785 and they had two children baptised:
