William & Mary Wenham of Pevensey

William Wenham, the son of William and Jane, was baptised in Pevensey on 4^th August 1717.

Mary Ayde was probably the daughter of John and Ann, born on 10^th and baptised in Willingdon on 27^th November 1708.

William Wenham and Mary Ayde, both of Pevensey, were married in Hollington on 12^th August 1735. Their children’s baptisms were:

William was probably buried in Pevensey in either 1749 or 1753 leaving Mary to bring up the younger children.

Mary was buried in Westham on 30^th May 1764. As this was not her parish a fee of 6s 8d was charged.

Of their children:

• Mary married Samuel Elphick  in Pevensey on 20^th May 1760.
