Thomas & Sarah Wratten of Herstmonceux

Thomas Wratten, son of Nicholas and Mary, was baptised in Herstmonceux on 6th January 1704/5.

Sarah Delvey’s origins are not known for certain, but a possibility is that she may have been the daughter of John and Mary, baptised in Burwash on 7th December 1702.

Thomas Wratten of Dallington and Sarah Dulvy of Herstmonceux were married in Dallington on 17th November 1730. They lived in Herstmonceux where their three children were baptised:

Thomas and Sarah were both buried in Herstmonceux, Thomas on 23rd May 1771 and Sarah on 14th July 1774.

  • Nicholas married Amy Edwards in Herstmonceux on 30th April 1761, witnessed by James Dan, Sarah’s husband.
  • Sarah married James Dan in Herstmonceux on 23rd June 1760, witnessed by John Dan and Nicholas Wratten. They are only known to have had one child:
